Masterclasses & Consultations -

Masterclasses are essentially open lessons with an audience so more students can take part and benefit from the educational experience. This is an opportunity to hear others play, discover new repertoire and learn from others in an interactive environment. These sessions are given in Central London when sufficient numbers of students are prepared with their performances. Our masterclass tutors hold a lifetime of knowledge and are also available for consultation lessons, when a students repertoire is at performance standard.

These masterclasses are for piano and string instruments and an accompanist will be provided when appropriate. These are usually open to more advanced students (ABRSM equivalent of grades 6-8) however those of a lower standard can still apply when their instrumental abilities are at an exceptional level.

At Piano and String Tutors London we highly advocate an all-round methodology when teaching and studying musical instruments. It is imperative to incorporate the development of a well-trained ear, a excellent note reading ability and a strong well-rounded instrumental technique.

We have chosen our masterclass teachers on this basis as they can bring an extra paradigm to the learning experience once pupils are prepared with their repertoire for performance.

Private consultations with our masterclass tutors are available to be booked on a flexible basis and are given usually online at mutually convenient times.
